How to use every part of Clearshot DR, in short steps. Search below or browse by topic.
Getting started
Your trial, your team, plans and settings.
- Sign up and start your free trialCreate your company in Clearshot DR with a 14-day free trial. No password and no card needed.
- Roles and inviting your teamOwner, admin, radiographer and viewer: what each role can do, how to invite people and how seats are counted.
- Plans, billing and the end of your trialChoose a plan, manage payment details and invoices, and what happens if a trial ends or a subscription lapses.
- Company settings and report brandingSet your company name, logo and colour for PDF reports and client links, and choose whether AI decisions may improve our models.
Jobs and images
Creating jobs, uploading files and what happens to the originals.
- Create and organise jobsA job holds the radiographs for one piece of work. Give it a name, reference, client and folder so it is easy to find.
- Upload DR imagesAdd DICOM or DICONDE files from your DR system, compressed or not, TIFF exports, or plain pictures. Several at once, up to 100 MB each.
- Originals, SHA-256 and the lossy and picture-only badgesWhy your uploaded file is never changed, how the SHA-256 fingerprint proves it, what the image information panel tells you, and what the Lossy and Picture only badges mean.
The viewer
Moving around the image, window and level, presets and every filter.
- Open an image and move around itZoom, pan, rotate, flip, step through images, compare two side by side, and the keyboard shortcuts.
- Window, level, gamma and invertChoose which part of the grey range fills the screen, and adjust contrast and polarity.
- Presets, batch view and your default viewThe built-in presets and when to use them, saving your own, keeping one view for every image, and a default view per report type.
- Enhance filters: edge, sharpen, local contrast, flatten, noise, reliefWhat each slider in the Enhance section does and when it helps.
- Advanced processing: multi-scale, de-stripe, background, deconvolution, dual windowThe heavy filters that run on the graphics card, what each one does, and WebGPU versus CPU processing.
- False colour scalesSeven colour scales that make faint density changes easier to see.
Measurement and image quality
Millimetres, thickness, wall loss, indications and ISO 17636-2.
- Length, angle, line profile, ROI statistics and annotationsThe basic measuring and marking tools, in millimetres straight from the file’s pixel spacing.
- Thickness calibration and thickness mapsTurn grey levels into millimetres of material using known steps in the same exposure, then show a thickness or wall-loss map.
- Tangential wall thicknessMeasure pipe wall thickness from a tangential exposure, with magnification correction and an uncertainty.
- Indication sizing, porosity and the rule checkSize indications with one click, work out projected porosity over a reference area, and check against limits you enter.
- ISO 17636-2 image quality: SNRn and duplex IQIMeasure normalised SNR and read a duplex wire IQI from the image, then check both against the ISO 17636-2:2022 requirement for your exposure.
Stitching, overlay, AI and assessments
The tools that build on a measured image, and recording your result.
- Stitch overlapping imagesAuto-stitch overlapping exposures into one image: lead number tape and the images themselves give the order and alignment, and any doubtful join is shown for you to check. Saved as a new file; the originals never change.
- Photo overlayLay the radiograph over a photo of the actual part using matching points, so the repair team can see where to look.
- AI assistA second pair of eyes that suggests possible indications, marker labels, an IQI reading and a preset. It never records a result.
- Record an assessmentSave your result for an image with the exact view on screen, so the processing used is documented.
Reports and exports
PDF reports and processed image exports.
Sharing, audit and security
Client links, the email code, the audit trail and where your data lives.
- Share images with your clientSend an expiring link that opens the job in a read-only viewer. Optional email code, downloads on or off, and every open logged.
- What your client seesThe email code step, the read-only viewer and what they can download. Useful to send to a client opening a link for the first time.
- The audit trailA record of who did what and when: uploads, assessments, AI decisions, exports, sharing and every client open.
- Security and your dataWhere your files are stored, how they are protected, who can see them, and getting your data back if you leave.
Training providers and students
Courses, student logins, home learning, the network lock and training packs.
- Set up a training courseTraining provider accounts run courses. Each course is one class’s workspace: its students, images and tasks, open only on the course dates.
- Add students and print their login cardsStudents don’t need an email address. You give each one a username and password, printed on a card, for your classroom PCs.
- Home learning before the courseSwitch on home learning to email each student their login and some pre-course work a few days before the course starts.
- Lock a course to your centre’s networkOptionally allow student sign-ins during the course only from your training centre’s internet connection.
- Buy and use training packsClearshot DR Training Images are realistic weld, wall-thickness and corrosion radiographs, each with an instructor-only answer key. Buy once, use in any course.
- Students: getting startedHow to sign in with your login card and use the course workspace.
