Clearshot DR

Everything a radiographer needs between the panel and the report

Clearshot DR takes a DICONDE file from your digital panel and gives you the tools to enhance it, measure it, prove its image quality and hand it to your client, all in a browser.

Viewing

The real data, not a screenshot. Clearshot reads DICOM and DICONDE files from any DR system, uncompressed or compressed (JPEG Lossless, JPEG-LS, JPEG 2000, RLE, Deflate, JPEG Baseline), plus greyscale TIFF exports, at their full bit depth. A lossy-compressed original is flagged on the image, and a JPEG or PNG picture opens marked “picture only” (compatibility). It shows the detector, calibration and exposure details stored in the file. It warns you if an image was taken before the panel's last calibration.

Window and level with a live histogram and auto-window that ignores open beam, plus gamma, invert, zoom to the pixel, rotate and flip. Your orientation is remembered for each image.

Compare and batch. Put two exposures side by side, each with its own window or linked. Set a view once and apply it to every image on a job, then step through them.

Filters and presets

8-band multi-scale enhancement with a gain for each detail size, the approach behind the enhancement in panel vendors' own software, plus a MUSICA-style compression curve. Edge enhance, sharpen and local contrast for fine detail.

Rolling-ball background removal and flattening for liquid levels and large thickness changes, FFT de-striping for panel line noise, guided-filter and anisotropic noise reduction, and Richardson–Lucy deconvolution set from your system's basic spatial resolution. Relief and seven false-colour scales.

Built-in presets for weld detail, porosity, liquid levels and thickness change, and your own saved presets. The heavy filters run on the graphics card through WebGPU where the browser supports it.

Measured in Chrome on an Apple-silicon MacBook. Phones and browsers without WebGPU use the CPU path, so results look the same everywhere.

Measurement

Calibrated length and angle from the pixel spacing in the file, line profiles you can export as CSV, and box statistics (mean, standard deviation, SNR).

Thickness calibration from two or more known thicknesses, with fit quality and a warning outside the calibrated range. The image becomes a thickness and wall-loss map, and tangential wall thickness is measured across a pipe wall profile with an uncertainty.

Indication sizing outlines an indication and gives length, width, area, equivalent diameter and contrast. Group indications for porosity percentage, and run an advisory rule check against the acceptance limits you enter from your standard.

Image quality to ISO 17636-2

Measure SNR in the area you choose and read the duplex wire IQI using the 20 % dip rule of ISO 19232-5:2018. Clearshot looks up the minimum SNRN and the required duplex pair for your class, technique and thickness in ISO 17636-2:2022 and shows a pass or fail with the table cited. Stitching and photo overlay

Stitching joins overlapping exposures of the same item into one image, aligned automatically with a manual nudge if needed. The stitched image is saved as a new file linked to its sources; the originals are never changed.

Photo overlay lays the radiograph over a photo of the actual part using three or four matching points, shown as a colour map or the wall-loss map, with indications and measurements carried across. Export it as a branded image or PDF so a client or repair team can see exactly where to look.

AI assistant

Ask about the current view and the assistant suggests possible indications, artefacts, lead-marker labels, an IQI reading and a preset to try. Suggestions appear on their own layer. Your interpreter accepts or rejects each one; the AI never records a result, and every decision is logged.

Assessment, reports and sharing

Assessments store the result, notes and the exact processing used. PDF reports carry your logo and colour, the assessed views, measurements and image-quality results.

Share links let a client open the job in the same viewer, read-only, measure and download the originals. They enter their email address and the 6-digit code we send them, so no account is needed but every visitor is identified. Links expire and can be revoked, and every open is recorded in the audit trail with uploads, assessments and downloads.
