In the course’s Settings, put your centre’s public IP address or range under Network lock (one per line, for example 81.2.69.0/24). While the course runs, students can only sign in — and keep working — from those addresses. Leave it empty to allow any network.
Finding your address
- Set the network lock to 1.1.1.1 and save.
- Have a student try to sign in on a classroom PC. The refusal message shows that computer’s address, and the Activity tab records it.
- Put that address (or your provider’s range) in the network lock and save.
The lock applies during the course itself. Home learning before the course works from anywhere, but only for the pre-course work.
